These standards from IFI, SAE, and ISO address blind rivets, their quality and construction, and their different forms.
This glossary presents preferred nomenclature and definitions of terms relating to blind rivets. It is intended that this glossary serve as a guide to users and producers to assist them toward the use of a single system of terminology for the characteristics and properties of blind rivets and other related terms descriptive of their function, application, and performance as component parts in engineered assemblies.
This standard describes procedures for the mechanical testing of inch series blind rivets to determine properties required in the product standard.
This standard describes procedures for the mechanical testing of metric series blind rivets to determine properties required in the product standard.
This standard outlines the inspection plan to be used when lot compliance after shipment of general purpose blind rivets is questioned by the user.
This International Standard specifies the terminology and definitions for types, performance characteristics and geometry for blind rivets and the terminology for blind rivet setting and setting equipment used generally in blind riveting. A list of terms in alphabetical order is given at the end of this document.
This International Standard specifies the methods of mechanical testing of blind rivets including: shear test (see clause 3), tensile test (see clause 3), mandrel head retention capability test (see clause 4), mandrel push out resistance test (prior to setting) (see clause 5), and mandrel break load test (see clause 6), at an ambient temperature of 10 C to 35 C. It applies to blind rivets with nominal diameters up to and including 6,4 mm.
This document has been declared "Stabilized" and will no longer be subjected to periodic reviews for currency. Users are responsible for verifying references and continued suitability or technical requirements. New technology may exist. This document has been taken directly from U.S. Military Specification MIL-R-85188A, Amendment 1. This specification covers pneumatic-hydraulic tools for use in the installation of type I blind rivets conforming to MIL-R-7885.
This standard establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements of inch series break mandrel blind rivets suitable for use in joining the component parts of an assembly. A metric series counterpart standard is in existence under designation IFI-505.
This standard establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements of metric break mandrel blind rivets suitable for use in joining the component parts of an assembly.
This standard establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements for inch series pull through mandrel blind rivets suitable for use in engineering assemblies where load transmitting capability by the rivet is a design requirement. A metric series counterpart standard is in existence under designation IFI-520.
This standard establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements of metric pull through mandrel blind rivets suitable for use in engineering assemblies where load transmitting capability by the rivet is a design requirement.
This standard establishes the requirements for drive pin blind rivets suitable for use in joining the component parts of an assembly.
