All other types of small solid rivets, within the limits of the diameters contained herein, are to be considered special. Also included is an appendix covering formulas on which dimensional data are based. It should be understood, however, that where questions arise concerning acceptance of product, the dimensions in the tables shall govern over recalculation by formula.

ASME B18.1.2-1972 (R2021)

Large Rivets

This Standard covers general and dimensional data for those types of large solid rivets recognized as American National Standard together with dimensional data applicable to manufactured heads after driving, driven heads, and hold-on (dolly bar) and rivet set impressions. Also included are appendixes covering formulas on which dimensional data are based. It should be understood, however, that where questions arise concerning acceptance of product, the dimensions in the tables shall govern over recalculation by formula.

ISO 1051:1999

This standard covers complete general and dimensional data for semi-tubular rivets, full tubular rivets, split and rivet caps for use in general purpose applications. The products described are suitable for joining metallic and non-metallic materials or combinations thereof. It should be noted that while these products are suitable for general purpose assembly, other special purpose types are available to satisfy particular requirements and manufacturers should be consulted for special requirements. The inclusion of dimensional data in this standard is not intended to imply that all of the products described are stock production sizes. Consumers are requested to consult with manufacturers concerning availability of products.

ASTM A131/A131M-19

Standard Specification for Structural Steel for Ships

1.1 This specification covers structural steel plates, shapes, and bars intended primarily for use in ship construction. 1.2 Material under this specification is available in the following categories: 1.2.1 Ordinary Strength Grades A, B, D, and E with a specified minimum yield point of 34 ksi [235 MPa], and 1.2.2 Higher Strength Grades AH, DH, EH, and FH with a specified minimum yield point of 46 ksi [315 MPa], 51 ksi [350 MPa], or 57 ksi [390 MPa]. 1.3 Shapes and bars are normally available as Grades A, B, AH32, and AH36. Other grades may be furnished by agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. 1.4 The maximum thickness of products furnished under this specification is 4 in. [100 mm] for plates and 2 in. [50 mm] for shapes and bars. 1.5 When the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that a welding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intended use or service will be utilized. See Appendix X3 of Specification A6/A6M for information on weldability. 1.6 Units This specification is expressed in both inch-pound units and in SI units; however, unless the purchase order or contract specifies the applicable M specification designation (SI units), the inch-pound units shall apply. The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard. 1.7 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

ASTM A31-14(2020)

Standard Specification for Steel Rivets and Bars for Rivets, Pressure Vessels

1.1 This specification 2 covers steel rivets for use in boilers and pressure vessels and steel bars for use in the manufacture of rivets. 1.2 Two grades are covered: 1.2.1 Grade A— Bars having a yield point of 23 000 psi (160 MPa) minimum with carbon 0.18 % maximum. 1.2.2 Grade B— Bars having a yield point of 29 000 psi (200 MPa) minimum with carbon 0.28 % maximum. 1.2.3 Rivets are manufactured from the applicable bar grade. 1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.

ASTM A502-03(2015)

Standard Specification for Rivets, Steel, Structural

1.1 This specification covers three grades of steel rivets in diameters from 1 / 2 to 1 1 / 2 in. inclusive, for structural fabricating purposes. The grades are as follows:... 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
