Specifies general safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of standard tractors used in agriculture and forestry.

Tractors for agriculture and forestry - Safety - Part 2: Narrow-track and small tractors

Specifies the general safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of narrow-track and small tractors used in agriculture and forestry. It also specifies the type of information on safe working practices, including residual risks, to be provided by the manufacturer. It provides technical means for improving the level of personal safety of operators and others involved in the course of the normal operation, maintenance and use of these tractors. It is applicable to narrow-track tractors having at least two axles for pneumatic-tyred wheels, or having tracks instead of wheels with a smallest fixed or adjustable track width of not more than 1 150 mm, and to small tractors having an unladen mass not greater than 600 kg.

Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry - Safety-related parts of control systems - Part 1: General principles for design and development

This document sets out general principles for the design and development of safety-related parts of control systems (SRP/CS) on tractors used in agriculture and forestry and on self-propelled ride-on machines and mounted, semi-mounted and trailed machines used in agriculture. It can also be applied to mobile municipal equipment (e.g. street-sweeping machines).

This document is not applicable to:

— aircraft and air-cushion vehicles used in agriculture;

— lawn and garden equipment.

This document specifies the characteristics and categories required of SRP/CS for carrying out their safety-related functions. It does not identify performance levels for specific applications.

NOTE 1 Machine specific type-C standards can specify performance levels (AgPL) for safety-related functions in machines within their scope. Otherwise, the specification of AgPL is the responsibility of the manufacturer.

This document is applicable to the safety-related parts of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic systems (E/E/PES), as these relate to mechatronic systems. It covers the possible hazards caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E/PES safety-related systems, including interaction of these systems. It does not address hazards related to electric shock, fire, smoke, heat, radiation, toxicity, flammability, reactivity, corrosion, release of energy, and similar hazards, unless directly caused by malfunctioning behaviour of E/E/PES safety-related systems. It also covers malfunctioning behaviour of E/E/PES safety-related systems involved in protective measures, safeguards, or safety-related functions in response to non-E/E/PES hazards.

ISO 12003-1:2021

Tractors for agriculture and forestry - Roll-over protective structures on narrow tractors - Part 1: Front-mounted ROPS

This document specifies procedures for both the static and dynamic strength testing of roll-over protective structures (ROPS) front-mounted on narrow tractors. It defines the clearance zone and acceptance conditions for rigid or tiltable, front, two-post ROPS, including any associated rear fixtures, and is applicable to tractors so equipped having the following characteristics: — a ground clearance of not more than 600 mm beneath the lowest points of the front- and rear-axle housings (not considering lower points on the axle differential); — a fixed or adjustable minimum track width of one of the two axles of less than 1 150 mm; NOTE It is understood that the axle mounted with the wider tyres is set at a track width of not more than 1 150 mm. Tyre track width is adjustable so that the outer edges of the narrower tyres do not extend beyond the outer edges of the tyres of the other axle. Where the two axles are fitted with rims and tyres of the same size, the fixed or adjustable track width of the two axles is less than 1 150 mm. — a mass greater than 400 kg but less than 3 500 kg, unballasted, including the ROPS and tyres of the largest size recommended by the manufacturer; — fitted with roll-over protective structures of the dual-pillar type mounted only in front of the seat index point (SIP) and characterised by a reduced clearance zone attributable to the tractor silhouette. This document also specifies optional testing procedures for both seat anchorage points and folding efforts of front-mounted ROPS designed to fold.


ISO 12003-2:2021

Tractors for agriculture and forestry - Roll-over protective structures on narrow tractors - Part 2: Rear-mounted ROPS

This document also specifies optional testing procedures for both seat anchorage points and folding efforts of rear-mounted ROPS designed to fold.


ISO 5700:2013

Tractors for agriculture and forestry - Roll-over protective structures - Static test method and acceptance conditions

ISO 5700:2013 specifies a static test method and the acceptance conditions for roll-over protective structures (cab or frame) of wheeled or tracked tractors for agriculture and forestry.

It is applicable to tractors having at least two axles for wheels mounted with pneumatic tyres, or having tracks instead of wheels, with an unballasted tractor mass of not less than 600 kg and a minimum track width of the rear wheels greater than 1 150 mm. It is not applicable to tractors having a mass ratio (maximum permissible mass / reference mass) greater than 1,75.


ISO 16154:2005

Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry - Installation of lighting, light signalling and marking devices for travel on public roadways

ISO 16154:2005 specifies the characteristics and installation of lighting and marking devices on agricultural and forestry tractors, self-propelled agricultural machines, agricultural trailers and trailed machines when operated on public roads. It is not applicable to purpose-built forestry machines as defined in ISO 6814 or to motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, trucks and their trailers.
