Industry Specific Quality Management

ISO Quality Management Standards extend beyond the 9000/9001 series of standards. The ISO 10000 series of standards is comprised primarily of guidelines for customer satisfaction, as well as guidelines for other aspects of quality management. Other standards address the application of ISO 9001 in specific cases, such as local government, crop production, automotive production, and more. Quality management systems - Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001 in local government

This International Standard specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization: a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. All the requirements of this International Standard are generic and are intended to be applicable to any organization, regardless of its type or size, or the products and services it provides. NOTE 1 In this International Standard, the terms product or service only apply to products and services intended for, or required by, a customer. NOTE 2 Statutory and regulatory requirements can be expressed as legal requirements. This document gives guidelines for local governments on understanding and implementing a quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, in order to meet the needs and expectations of their customers/citizens and all other relevant interested parties by consistently providing them with products and services. It promotes implementing a quality management system in a responsible and accountable manner, through the application of ISO 9001 on a comprehensive basis. These guidelines do not add, change or modify the requirements of ISO 9001. It is applicable to all local government processes at all levels (i.e. strategical, tactical-managerial and operational) in order to constitute a comprehensive quality management system that focuses on the local government achieving its objectives. The comprehensive character of this system is essential to ensure that all the areas of the local government have a specified level of reliability (i.e. effectiveness of the processes). Annex A, as a starting point for users of this document, gives a diagnostic methodology for local governments to evaluate the scope and maturity of their processes and products and services. Annex B gives the processes necessary to provide reliable products and services to customers/citizens.

ISO 22006:2009

Quality management systems - Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:2008 to crop production

ISO 22006:2009 gives guidelines to assist crop producers in the adoption of ISO 9001:2008 for crop production processes. The term crop includes seasonal crops (such as grains, pulses, oilseeds, spices, fruit and vegetables), row-planted crops that are cultivated, perennial crops that are managed over a period of time, and wild crops that are not formally planted or managed. Horticultural crops provide an even broader range of types from annual and perennial fruits, vegetables, and ornamental flowering plants to perennial shrubs and trees, and root crops. These diverse crops require a broad range of planting, cultivating, pest control, and harvesting methods and practices. Decisions regarding planting, growing, and harvesting activities can be similar, although specific steps can be quite different when considering the range of crops. ISO 22006:2009 gives guidelines on the use and application of ISO 9001:2008 to the establishment and management of a quality management system (QMS) by an organization involved in crop production. ISO 22006:2009 is not intended to change, add or reduce the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, nor is it intended for certification. Further down the supply chain, in manufacturing processes, the language of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 15161 or ISO 22000 is considered more appropriate. The need for an ISO 9001:2008-based system containing agricultural terminology became apparent due to difficulties in the interpretation of the language of ISO 9001:2008 for crop production applications.

NOTE 3 Electoral bodies can be constituted to reflect local legal requirements. NOTE 4 In this document, the term product only applies to the electoral service provided by an electoral body. This document is applicable to the election period, including pre-election and post-election activities or processes. This document is applicable to all electoral bodies involved in any aspect of the electoral process, whether they are permanent organizations or temporary organizations established in support of a particular election period.

This document defines quality management system requirements for product and service supply organizations to the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries. This document is written as a supplement to ISO 9001:2015. The supplementary requirements and guidance to ISO 9001:2015 have been developed to manage supply chain risks and opportunities associated with the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries and to provide a framework for aligning requirements with complementary standards employed within the industries.

Annex A provides a table pointing to additional guidance on the implementation of ISO 9001:2015, available in ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 7, ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27 and ISO/TC 176 International Standards. The guidelines provided in this document are not intended to be used as assessment criteria in quality management system registration/certification. However, some organizations can consider it useful to implement the guidelines proposed in this document and can be interested in knowing whether the resultant quality management system is compliant or not with this document. In this case, an organization can use both this document and ISO 9001 as assessment criteria for quality management systems in the software domain.
