PCPC: Personal Care Products Council

PCPC, the Personal Care Products Council, is a national trade association for the cosmetic and personal care products industry. They are the voice on scientific, legal, regulatory, legislative and international issues for the personal care product industry for over 600 member companies. Oversight for the International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient (INCI) program is provided by the Personal Care Products Council as part of its mission to support the identification of the composition of personal care products, and publication of this information in a worldwide reference, based on sound science.

CTFA Technical Guidelines - Micro Guidelines

The CTFA Microbiology Guidelines are intended to provide manufacturers with guidance regarding establishing and maintaining a microbiological quality program within their companies. The Guidelines are also recommended for contract packagers and suppliers of raw materials. Sections of the Guidelines will vary as to applicability for different sectors of the industry and for individual companies.

This International Standard gives guidelines for the production, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products. These guidelines cover the quality aspects of the product, but as a whole do not cover safety aspects for the personnel engaged in the plant, nor do they cover aspects of protection of the environment. Safety and environmental aspects are inherent responsibilities of the company and could be governed by local legislation and regulation. These guidelines are not applicable to research and development activities and distribution of finished products.
