AAMI/IEC 60601-1-2 applies to the basic safety and essential performance of medical electrical equipment and medical electrical systems. It also applies to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of medical electrical equipment and medical electrical systems. The object of this standard is to specify general requirements and tests for EMC of medical electrical equipment and medical electrical systems.
