Powered pedestrian doors - Part 1: Product requirements and test methods

This standard contains requirements regarding design and test methods for drive units, leaves and components of powered doors in pedestrian areas. Such door constructions may be operated electro-mechanically, electro-hydraulically or pneumatically. Doors can be of sliding, hinged and revolving type with a horizontally moved leaf. Powered pedestrian doors might be used at entrances, in interior locations, in escape routes and emergency exits, as well as on smoke and fire doors. This standard does not cover assemblies of which the leaves are moved vertically.*The standard specifies requirements regarding design of the installation, marking and commissioning, as well as inspection and testing of powered pedestrian doors in pedestrian areas. Powered pedestrian doors may be used at entrances, in interior locations, in escape routesand emergency exits, as well as on smoke and fire doors. This standard is not applicable to automatic partition walls, automatic doors, the leafs of which can be moved in a vertical direction, automatic doors, which are mainly intended to be used in vehicular traffic and inward goods movement, automatic doors at industrial plants, automatic pedestrian gates or level-crossings, automatic pedestrian turnstiles, automatic doors used in lifts. This standard does not cover the hazards which are caused by electromagnetic fields. The risk potentials associated with powered pedestrian doors are listed in DIN 18650-1:2010-02, Annex E.
