DIN 38414-8:1985

German standard methods for the examination of water, waste water and sludge; sludge and sediments (group S); determination of the amenability to anaerobic digestion (S 8)

The standard describes a chemical-biological method for the determination of the amenability to anaerobic digestion of sludge, filtration residue and waste water with high concentration of organic content. As a measure for the amenability to anaerobic digestion goes the volume of gas developing in a particular time out of the organic material. There is given a description of an apparatus for the development and measurement of the gas-volume and a method of calculationfor the evaluation of the experiment.
