DIN EN ISO 1452-5:2010

Plastics piping systems for water supply and for buried and above-ground drainage and sewerage under pressure - Unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) - Part 5: Fitness for purpose of the system (ISO 1452-5:2009); German version EN ISO 1452-5:2009

This Part of DIN EN ISO 1452 specifies the characteristics for the fitness for purpose of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) piping systems intended for water supply and for buried and above ground drainage and sewerage under pressure. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this document. In conjunction with Parts 1 to 4 of DIN EN ISO 1452, it is applicable to joints and assemblies with components of PVC-U, other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for the following: a) water mains and services buried in ground; b) conveyance of water above ground for both outside and inside buildings; c)buried and above ground drainage and sewerage under pressure; It is applicable to piping systems intended for the supply of water under pressure up to and including 25 °C (cold water) intended for human consumption and for general purposes as well as for waste water under pressure. This document is also applicable to components for the conveyance of water and waste water up to and including 45 °C.*((DIN EN ISO 1452-1, DIN EN ISO 1452-2, DIN EN ISO 1452-3, DIN EN ISO 1452-5)) The standards specify the requirements and test methods for PVC-U solid-wall pipeline components, their joints and to joints with pipeline components of other plastics and other non-plastics materials intended to be used in piping systems for the conveyance of drinking water, water for general use and waste water under pressure. Part 1 contains general requirements, e.g. the terminology and requirements for materials. Part 2 and part 3 include furthermore special specifications for pipes and fittings regarding general, geometrical, mechanical and physical properties and for marking, respectively. Part 5 provides a basis for the assessment of the fitness for purpose of the system consisting of the single components pipe, fitting and joint. The International standards have been prepared by ISO/TC 138/SC 2/WG 3 "PVC piping systems for water supply" (secretariat: NEN, the Netherlands) with active German collaboration of the Joint Subcommittee NA 119-04-06-03 GUA "Kunststoffrohre in der Trinkwasserversorgung - PVC-Rohre" ("Plastic pipes in the drinking water supply - PVC pipes") of the NAW.
