Additive manufacturing processes, rapid manufacturing - Beam melting of metallic parts - Qualification, quality assurance and post processing (Foreign Standard)

The standard recommends testing procedures for various properties of additively manufactured parts. It refers to well established testing procedures only. As these procedures still allow yet undetermined degrees of freedom the results for parts which have been produced by certain additive manufacturing procedures are not directly comparable. It is necessary to specify further testing criteria which fix remaining degrees of freedom and allow to sample the critical quality properties of additively manufactured parts. The commonly used testing methods are listed in the standard. They can be used to qualify the additive manufacturing procedures as well as for quality assurance of the parts.
