Aerospace series - Qualification and approval of personnel for non-destructive testing

This document determines the minimum requirements for the qualification and certification of personnel, which in the air and space industry in the areas of production, service, maintenance and overhaul non-breaking tests (ZFP), non-destructive surveillance (ZFÜ) or non-destructive assessments (ZFB) carried out. The term ZFP is used for the use of this document and is considered to be synonymous with ZFÜ and ZFB. In Europe, the term "approval" is used in order to describe a written confirmation of an employer that a person has special requirements and has an authorization. The term "certification", as specified in 3.2, is used in this document instead of the term "approval". Unless otherwise stipulated in the approval regulation, certification according to this document includes an enforcement. This document applies to personnel that uses ZFP procedures for the examination and/or acceptance of materials, products, components, assemblies or component subgroups. This document also applies to personnel who is directly responsible for the technical suitability of the ZFP processes used, approved the ZFP procedural and/or test instructions, audited the ZFP institutions or that for technical ZFP support or training is. This document does not apply to persons who only exercise administrative or monitoring powers about ZFP staff or for research personnel who developed ZFP technologies for the subsequent implementation and approval by ZFP staff of level 3. For personnel who carry out specialized surveillance using certain measuring devices that are determined by level 3 staff, which is certified in this procedure, no qualification or certification according to this document is required. This document mentions the use of a national ZFP committee for Air-U.-room trip (NANDTB). Nandtb are only used as defined in Appendix C; However, such a committee is not absolutely necessary for the agreement with the requirements of this document. Personnel who is certified according to previous revisions of NAS 410 or EN 4179 does not have to be certified again according to the requirements of this document until its currently valid certification expires. This document contains detailed requirements for the following usual ZFP procedures: vertebral current test (et) magnetic powder test (MT) penetration test (PT) radiation test (RT) Thermographic examination (TT) Ultrasound test (UT) if it requires technology, quality, responsible planning organization or requirements of the main contractor This document also applies to other current or newly emerging ZFP procedures that are used to determine the acceptability or suitability for the intended function of a material, part, component, a assembly or substructure. Such test methods can include the sound emission test (AT), the radiation test with neutrons, the tightness test, holography and shearography are not limited. The requirements for training, experience and examination of the staff in these further test procedures are defined in accordance with 6.4 and documented by the client.
