This document describes the kinds of coating materials and coating systems commonly used for corrosion protection of steel structures. There's a guide for the selection of coating systems for different environments (see ISO 12944-2), with the exception of the Korrosivitätskategorie CX and the category Im4 according to ISO 12944-2 and different degrees of surface preparation (see also ISO 12944-4), and the term of the protection to be expected (see ISO 12944-1).
