Paints and varnishes - Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems - Part 9: Protective paint systems and laboratory performance test methods for offshore and related structures (ISO 12944-9:2018)

This document specifies the performance demands on coating systems for buildings in the offshore area (i.e. those that are exposed to sea atmosphere and coating systems immersed in the sea or brackish water). Such structures are exposed, as laid down in ISO 12944-2 environments (offshore) Korrosivitätskategorie CX and the immersion category Im4. This part of ISO 12944 describes coatings for durability and high protection according to ISO 12944-1. This document applies to buildings made of mild steel, the surfaces of CD / bi CR and Zn / bi CR does not cover it. Also surfaces under insulation or concrete are not covered. This document applies to coating systems that are designed for an operating temperature range from-20 ° C to + 80 ° C. The performance test is designed to verify that the suitability of coating systems for this temperature range. This document applies to coating systems in water immersed...
