Non-destructive testing of welds - Radiographic testing - Part 1: X- and gamma-ray techniques with film (ISO 17636-1:2022)

This document determines techniques of radiation testing of melting welding compounds in metallic materials using techniques with industrial radiographic films with the aim of receiving satisfactory and repeatable results. The techniques are based on generally recognized procedures and the basic theories on the subject. This document can be used for welding connections from plates and pipes made of metallic materials. In addition to the conventional importance, the term "pipe" also includes other cylindrical bodies such as pressure lines, boiler drums and pressure vessels in this document. This document does not determine any admissibility limits for displays in the radiation recordings. The ISO 10675 series of standards contains information on admissibility limits for the evaluation of weld seams. If the contractual partners use lower test criteria, the quality achieved can be significantly lower than when using this document.
