This document determines names that are used in the field of coating substances (paints, paints and raw materials for varnishes and paintings). Names that relate to specific applications and properties are treated in standards that affect such applications and properties, including corrosion protection (see the ISO 12944), powder coat (see ISO 8130-14), electrical diving varnish (see ISO 22553-1) and rheology (see ISO 3219-1). Names for nanotechnology are coordinated with the ISO 80004 series of standards. Names of pigments and fillers are coordinated with ISO 18451-1.
