Preparation of wood for chemical analysis

This method describes a procedure for further preparation of wood that has been sampled for analysis in accordance with TAPPI T 257 "Sampling and Preparing Wood for Analysis" A method for determination of moisture content in wood is described. Due to the highly hazardous nature of the solvents used in this procedure, the committee is working on a new procedure that will replace this method at a later date utilizing alternative solvents.
