Laminate floor coverings - Specifications, requirements and test methods
This document specifies properties, requirements and test methods for laminate flooring with a top layer as defined in 3.2 to 3.5. It also specifies requirements for labeling and packaging. It contains a classification system based on EN ISO 10874 with practical requirements for specific areas of use and stress classes. This serves to show in which areas laminate flooring can be used satisfactorily and to enable the consumer to make an informed choice. Laminate flooring is generally intended for floating installation in residential and commercial applications, including use in residential kitchens. This document does not specify requirements for use in areas regularly exposed to moisture, such as bathrooms, utility rooms or saunas. In general, laminate flooring can only be used in these areas if warranted by the manufacturer and under the conditions described in the manufacturer's installation guidelines.
