Paints and varnishes - Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems - Part 3: Design considerations (ISO 12944-3:2017)
The basic rules for the design of coating systems with marked steel buildings are set in this document, to avoid premature corrosion and damage of the coating or the building. Examples of appropriate and inappropriate figures are given in the standard, and it is shown how difficulties in applying, monitoring and repairing coating systems can be avoided. Design rules which facilitate the handling and transportation of steel structures, are also included.
